Hey Friends.
Well…looks like it’s been 5 years since anyone posted on this blog. Figured I would do another update because that’s a long time and a lot has happened. Also this year marks the 40th anniversary of our company’s existence, which is pretty cool. We still have a few t-shirts left over if you want to grab one before they’re gone!
We are fortunate to truly be as busy as we have ever been — no doubt that is something I have said before, but this time it’s by a substantial margin . It’s November 5 and we are no longer taking custom golf bag orders for delivery by Christmas. That is a result of a major uptick in golf bags that need to be under the Christmas tree paired with the fact that we are juggling quite a few larger orders.
On the docket right now is a 60 golf bag order for Golf Pride, a couple of Sugarloaf projects, a large stock order for the new Doak course in Baja called Punta Brava (place looks unreal). 30 drop ship Walker Cup bags that were ordered at Cypress in September, a batch of Sentinel x Miura bags, a batch of bags for the R&A, our normal flow of Sentinel, Miura and Gumtree orders, as well as a big project with Fyfe Golf in Scotland. We have been working Saturdays in order to get all of this done by the end of the year.
I’m not sure folks realize how small our team is sometimes. We have 10 employees, 7 of which are the insanely talented crew that actually make golf bags, and 3 of which are the entire customer facing side of the business. The three are myself, Alec and our new guy Ennis. The three of us also handle all of the finishing and shipping of everything that goes out our door. When you have a small team like we do, it requires a “do whatever needs to get done” attitude from the entire crew. We also have our buddy Zach handing all of the DMs, so if you’ve been chatting with us on Instagram you’re speaking with ZK. We have made a concerted effort to be more responsive and helpful on Instagram. It can be a lot to get through all of those messages with everything else we have going on.
Fore Ewe, our knit head cover business, is also busy. That business is handled by the MacKenzie team in addition to everything else we have going on.
Of all the things to love about this business — the amazing story, the care for the quality of the product, the product itself and how it shapes the way you interface with the game of golf — my favorite thing, and the thing I’m most grateful for, is our customers. So thank you to all of you that continue to support and appreciate our efforts to make you the best golf bags possible.
Happy Holidays. Merry Christmas. Godspeed. And thanks for all the love.
